Mr. Renzie Johnson, Sr. was born to Henry and Beulah Johnson on August 17, 1937 in Winston-Salem, NC. He departed this life on September 12, 2010.
Renzie Johnson, Sr. was a graduate of the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System.
He was a veteran of the Army and retired from RJR Tobacco Company after 35 years of faithful service.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Franklin Johnson; and four sisters, Thelma Pilson, Irene Edmond, Mary Graham, and Gwendolyn Johnson.
Renzie Johnson, Sr. is survived by one daughter, Pamela Johnson Hinton; one son, Renzie Johnson; one grandson, Ryan Johnson; one great granddaughter, Saniya Johnson; two brothers, Robert (Sandra) Johnson and Carl (Sandra) Johnson; one sister, Betty Jean (Albert) Barksdale; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, September 18, 2010 from the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Shawn L. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:00noon on Saturday at the Chapel.
