Obituary

Reginald Wendell Boyd, III, a wonderful and gentle soul, was born October 8, 1998 to Reginald Boyd, Jr. and TaWana Williams.  Mom and Dad anxiously awaited the arrival of their second son who was affectionately named "Third" and "Chipmunk" by his family and friends.

To know him was to love him. Third was mysterious yet outspoken, calculated, adventurous, and could learn from anyone he came in contact with.  His protectant heart was full of love and admiration for his family and friends from whom he learned the meaning of loyalty and respect.  His smile and hugs were an outward display of the compassion he felt for others.  Like his mother, he fell in love with the outdoors, sunsets, constellations, and his favorite….the calming sounds of the rain.  Third had an inquisitive mind. He would stay up until the wee hours of the morning binge watching Anime and dreaming of his future aspirations.  Chipmunk made his family proud when he graduated from South View High School in 2016 and furthered his education at Fayetteville Technical Community College in pursuit of becoming an architectural engineer.

Family was the pinnacle of Third's life.  In Heaven, Third joins his grandmother, Lillie Mae Mitchell; grandfather, Cephus J. Dalton; aunt, Tracie E. Mitchell; and Demus Williams, Jr.

On earth, in addition to his parents, Third is survived by his brother, Anthony Marquise Williams; grandmother, Francine Ruth; grandfather, Reginald Boyd, Sr.; great-aunts, Ollavee Mann, Elizabeth Brown, and Mildred Chinaka; cousin, Bobby Jordan; uncle, Adrain Sykes; cousins, Forte, Dalton, Jordan, Williams, Jailyn, Deonte, Jama, Jamie, and Demetrice; aunts, Regina Quick, Tania Renee Boyd, and Kimberly Danielle Boyd; close family, The Lowery Family and The Bohannon Family; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Third departed this earthly life into the welcomed embrace of our Lord and Savior on October 10, 2020.  Our family circle has been broken and a link is gone from our chain.  Though we're parted for awhile, we know we'll meet again.

Our lives are so much better for the time God has allowed us to share with Third.  He is now at peace.  A great soul serves everyone all the time.  A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home. Private services will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2020.
