Mrs. Rebecca Wingate Goodson was born in Darlington, SC on August 17, 1927 to Ceasar and Carrie Davis Wingate. She departed this earth on November 8, 2011 in Winston-Salem, NC.
Mrs. Goodson was a lifelong member of Macedonia Worship Center, where she served on the Deaconess and Usher Boards and was a Mother of the Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six siblings; and her son, Benjamin Davis Goodson.
She leaves to cherish her memories and loving devotion, her husband of 66 ½ years, Nathaniel Goodson, Sr.; a sister, Eloise Wingate Cameron; five children, Lillie Mae (Donald-deceased) Petree, Nathaniel (Bessie) Goodson, Jr., Yolanda Sturdivant, Ola (Lewis) Ingram, and Arkela (Richard) Dunlap; a devoted son-in-law, Johnnie Sturdivant, Sr.; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great- great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Macedonia Worship Center with Apostle S.D. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Tuesday at the Church.
