Obituary

Rayvon Lewis, 56, of Winston Salem, North Carolina passed away Wednesday morning, July 30, 2008 at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.

Rayvon was born in Forsyth County, the son of Allen Johnson Lewis, Sr., and Dorothy Lyde Lewis. He lived a life that most would dream of. Born mentally disabled, he still knew how to have fun and enjoy life. Known to many as "Moot", he enjoyed small toy cars, cigarette lighters and gladly shared them with others. Rayvon was a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the anointed pastoral leadership of Bishop John C. Parks (nephew-in-law) and a faithful tither.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Rayvon is survived by his four brothers, Allen, Albert, Melvin, and Jimmy; one great- uncle, Lynn Lyde of Philadelphia, PA; a special niece, Lisa "Lady Lisa Parks"; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Monday, August 4, 2008 from the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 1201 New Hope Lane, W-S, NC. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Monday at the Church.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to his Caregivers, The Brian Center of Salisbury, Reynolds Health Center, Winston Salem Fire Department, and Russell Funeral Home
