Mr. Raymond Bernard Goodyear, Jr. was born March 4, 1951 in Marion, South Carolina to Raymond and Illa Goodyear, the fifth or eight children. He was a 1970 graduate of Johnakin High School, Marion, SC.

Raymond was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Maxie Goodyear, Otis Goodyear, Beula Wilson and Meadow Goodyear.

He leaves to cherish memories his daughter, Gloria Sanders; grandchildren, Deven and Tiffany Sanders; a host of great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Godbolt (Walker) of Marion, SC and Earlesie Goodyear of Wilson, NC; one uncle, Rufus Moses of Marion, SC; one aunt, Lottie Grant; special friend, Sara McCrae; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to express a very special thank you to everyone that has helped our family care for our beloved Raymond.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Friday, October 2, 2026 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation and public viewing will be held from 11:00am until 11:30am on Friday at the Chapel.
