Rashad Akeem Sims was born into this world on September 25, 1986. He was born to Fonda Rouse and Willie Sims. He was the only child of Fonda Rouse. Rashad graduated from Glenn High School of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and attended NC Wesleyan University in Rocky Mount North Carolina.

Rashad is a cherished member of our family. He was always dependable for a good laugh and always there to help his mother and grandparents whenever he could. Rashad was striving to provide a safe and healthy life for himself and his children. He was determined to be an independent son and father.

Rashad loved his four beautiful children Brayden Sims, Jasiah Sims, Brielle Sims and Brenlee Sims and was a devoted father. Rashad was preceded in death by his aunts Katara Reid and Benaja Reid whom he loved and his grandfather, Clayton Reid, which was his best friend. Rashad was loved immensely my his family and friends. We are left to cherish our memories and time with him.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Monday, June 17, 2024 at Redeemed Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Monday at the Church.
