Obituary

Ramona Lavon Johnson Eller, 61, of 4160 Salem Springs Ct.  departed this life on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at South Lake Hospital in Clermont, Florida.  She was born on May 10, 1957 in Winston-Salem, N.C. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Leroy and Juanita Johnson.  She attended the W-S Forsyth County Schools and graduated from North Forsyth Senior High School. She graduated from Berean Institute School of Cosmetology in Philadelphia, PA.

She was an employee of the Winston-Salem Forsyth Co. Schools until 1984 when she moved to Chicago with her husband and became an entrepreneur.  She was the owner and operator of Monique's Boutique.  Ramona was employed by the Winston-Salem Transit Authority as a Trans Aide Driver after she moved back to Winston-Salem in 2002.  She was a member of the Transportation Workers Union Local #248 for 8 years and served as the secretary.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Rev. Leroy and Juanita Johnson; one daughter, Darryell Ramonya Eller; and step-father, Jessie Lindsay.

Ramona accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and was baptized at the age of 8.  She was a faithful member of Christ Kingdom Building Worship Center for over fifteen years. She was known for her free spirit and her love for helping others.  She loved spending time with her family and going on family trips.  Her family knew they could always count on her for support.  She loved to talk and it seemed that she never met a stranger. She will be remembered for her good sense of humor, her smile, and her giving spirit.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 34 years, Darry Eller; two daughters, Monique and Clarissa Eller; two grandchildren, Jeremiah and Imani Eller; four sisters, Irene J. Rush (Ronnie), of Rural Hall, NC, Rosalind Johnson and Saundra J. McDougald, of Durham, NC, and Regina J. Moore of Baton Rouge, LA; one brother, Jeffrey K. Johnson (Deborah) of Winston-Salem, NC; mother-in-law, Marie Lindsay of Midway, NC; two sisters-in-law, Bridget Eller of Midway, NC and Janice E. Harper (Leroy) of Winston-Salem, NC; two brothers-in-law, Wendell Eller and Milton Eller (Nina) of Midway, NC ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.



Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, September 14, 2018 at Christ Kingdom Building Worship Center.  Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Friday at the Church.
