Ralph White, Sr., 77, departed this life Thursday, January 7, 2016. He was born April 21, 1938 in Kinston, NC to Rudolph and Christine White. He served in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and was retired from the City of Greensboro.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Reverend Ralph White, Jr.; great-grandson, Antoin Saleem, Jr.; two brothers, James and Raymond White, Jr.; two sisters, Helen White and Ada Thompsons; and his mother and father-in-law.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 56 years, Bettie Saleem; 3 sons. Michael Saleem (special family friend, Nicole Taylor), Anthony (Angelia) White, Sr., and Antoin (Christina) Saleem, Sr.; two daughters, Angela (Ernest, Sr.) Mallory and Andrea Hymes; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Edward White; three sisters, Martha Whitfield, Ruby Williams, and Hattie Mitchell; two brothers-in-law, Eugene Bess and Robert Durant; a very special nephew, Samual (Ina) White, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 1:30pm on Thursday at the Chapel.
