Obituary

Mr. Quinton Wardell Boulware, 68, the son of Mr. Marshall T. Boulware, Sr. and Mrs. Katie Arnold Boulware; the husband of Mrs. Deborah Plummer Boulware; passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at his residence following an extended period of illness.

Mr. Boulware was born in Winston-Salem, NC on June 27, 1952.  He attended the public schools, graduating from Atkins High School in 1970.  He attended Winston-Salem State University graduating in 1978 with a major in history.  While attending WSSU he became a member of Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship Inc. since 1974.

SP Quinton W. Boulware 32 nd was a member of King Solomon Consistory Number 64, Keeper of the Seal and Archives, Member of Sethos Temple 170, Past Chief Rabbin, Past Advisor to the Daughters of Sethos Court 105. Salem Lodge 139.

Mr. Boulware was the life of any gathering.  He brought laughter, had a great sense of humor, and gave much happiness to all around him.  You knew when he was in the room!

Mr. Boulware worked as a Parking Deck Security Officer with the City of W-S.  He retired from the City in 2013.  He also worked several years as a fulltime substitute teacher with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, working with the exceptional children department and the youth detention center.

He was a dedicated member of Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church where he served on the Usher Board.  He enjoyed attending Wednesday's Noon Day Prayer Services.  He also attended some Bible Study Classes.

Mr. Boulware was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Boulware leaves to cherish many memories his loving wife of 28 years, Deborah Plummer Boulware; his two wonderful sons whom he was so proud of, Demaris (Kenya) Boulware and Quinton Boulware; his was the proud grandfather to Demaris, Jr. "DJ" whom he absolutely adored; he was an uncle to Michelle Cloud of Atlanta, GA which he was proud of; his beloved brother, Marshall T. (Barbara) Boulware, Jr.; beloved and devoted sister, Linda B. (Paul) Cloud both of the city; sister-in-law, Linda (William) Jones;  niece, LaKesha Plummer; nephews, McKenzie (Carla) Jones of TN, Devonta Simmons, Montrell Plummer, and Courtland Jones all of Mount Olive, NC; three aunts, Mary Lee Johnson and Billie Jean Ford both of the city and Dorothy Dockery of Richmond, VA; cousins, Joe (Linda) Johnson, Mary (David) Ferguson, Angela Baker, and Jean Miller; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home. Private services will be held Monday, November 16, 2020.  Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
