Obituary

Quawan Michael Ray Shavers, known to some as "Deuce", was born as "Twin B" on June 3, 2021, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC, to Catherine Shavers and Quinton Jordan. Deuce and his big sister, Casmine, entered the world 18 weeks early to begin their journey as NICU Warriors. Known for being one of the strongest little people in world, on March 28, 2022, Deuce was called upon to fulfill his role in the kingdom of heaven. During the time he shared with us, Quawan grew to love his cuddle time with Mommy and Daddy, story time, family visits, spa day with his wonderful nurses, cheek kisses from Mommy, sleeping like his Daddy, bubbles, and the sweet sound of gospel music. With all this, his best days were spent with Sweet Baby Cas next to his side.

Quawan was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Catherine Shaw, Joe Shavers, Bobby Simmons and Reginald Downing; his grandfather, Walter Ray Simmons; and his uncle, Michael L. Cook Jr.

Quawan leaves to cherish his parents, Catherine Shavers of Winston-Salem, NC and Quinton Jordan of Greensboro, NC; two sisters, Quinteria Jordan of Greensboro, NC and his twin, Casmine Shavers of

Winston-Salem, NC; two brothers, Jaylin Murry of Winston-Salem, NC, and Quinton Jordan Jr. of Greensboro, NC, two great grandmothers, Lorraine Jordan of Baltimore, MD, and Hattie Simmons of Norfolk, VA; two grandmothers, Cassandra Shavers of Winston Salem, NC and Stephanie Jordan (Odell) of Baltimore, MD; one grandfather, Michael Cook of Rochester, NY; two uncles, Marcus Shavers of Winston-Salem, NC, and Reginald Jordan (Rochelle) of Glen Burnie, MD; five aunts, Jenae Shavers of Winston-Salem, NC, Keyonna Jordan and CursheAnn Jordan of Baltimore, MD, Christina Fenner of Plymouth, NC, and Shajaida Barnes of Newport News, VA; and a Godmother, Tiffany Cockerham (Waddell) of Winston Salem, NC. Quawan also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and an army of prayer warriors.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Power of God in Christ Ministries, 414 Mason Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101 (formerly Greater Hope of Glory Missionary Baptist Church) with Pastor Renee Miller officiating.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
