Phillip K. Adams was born November 1, 1957 in Brooklyn, NY. He fell asleep in death on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, Winston Salem, NC.

Phillip graduated from Carver High School in Winston Salem, NC. He went on to join the U.S Army for 2 years.  Many will recall when he worked at the Phillips Gas Station on New Walkertown Road in Winston, Salem, NC.  Phillip was employed at the U.S.A. Valet Parking at the Airport in Greensboro, NC for 10 years and gained so many wonderful friends and co-workers.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Ruth Washington; his father, William Adams; and his aunt, Betty Harris.

Phillip is survived by one brother, Gary D. Mebane of Los Angeles, CA; three aunts, Mattie L. Pratt of Durham, NC, Linda Laws (John) of Durham, NC, and Josephine Glover (supported uncle, Frank) of Brooklyn, NY one uncle, James Harris of Williamstown, NJ; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

Phillip was a big lover of the Arts and sold many of his arts. One of his pieces is a mural at the Wake Forest Baptist Children Hospital (Brenner) in Winston Salem, NC and another one of his art creations is a Chess Set that is on exhibit at the Chicago O'Hare Airport in Chicago, IL.  In the past, he had much of his art displayed at the Diggs Art Gallery on the campus of the Winston Salem State University in Winston Salem, N.C.

Phillip's mother was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, therefore, in his younger years he would attend with her to various Bible meetings. In recent years, he had Bible studies with one of Jehovah's Witnesses from time to time.

Phillip was a person of many words so those who knew him will remember their conversations with him and will miss him for that. Phillip was loved by all who knew him and all will truly miss him.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30am Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.  The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 11:30am on Saturday at the Chapel.
