Peggy Jean Wiggins McIntyre was born on September 27, 1961 in Spring Hope, NC to John W. Wiggins and Bernice Moss Wiggins. She peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Wake Forest University/Baptist Medical Center.
Peggy was a graduate of Southern Nash Senior High School in Bailey, NC and East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. She met and married Harvey J. McIntyre, Jr. and they resided in Advance, NC where they faithfully attended St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was employed at Arbor Acres United Methodist Retirement Community where she worked as a nutritionist.
She was a faithful believer in the Lord, as well as a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. We know we will miss her, yet we will not faint, but will trust in God who gives power to the faint and strength to the weak.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Moss Wiggins; and her brother, Arthur J. Wiggins.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 13 years, Harvey J. McIntyre of Advance, NC; one step-son, Byron J. (Bobbi) McIntyre of Greensboro, NC; one step-daughter, Alexis V. McIntyre of Wilmington, NC; one step-granddaughter, Bryttani J. McIntyre; her father, John W. Wiggins; sisters, Dorothy L. Wiggins of Durham, NC and Joyce A. (Eddie) Brinkley of Spring Hope, NC; sister-in-law, Sheila J. Wiggins of Rocky Mount, NC; brothers, John D. (Alma) Wiggins of Garner, NC, Jimmy L. (Brenda) Wiggins of Spring Hope, NC, and Michael R. (Lula) Wiggins of Raleigh, NC; nieces and nephews, Valerie Spellman and Nicole Hunter, Crystal J. Wiggins, Terry L. Wiggins, Tiffany S. Wiggins and Brittany M. Wiggins, Roderick S. Wiggins, Teddie L. Brinkley, and Brandon S. Wiggins; two aunts, Tassie W. Strickland of Spring Hope, NC and Eloise W. Williams of Nashville, NC; mother-in-law, Theresa M. Corbett McIntyre of Atkinson, NC; sister-in-law, Beverly A. McIntyre of Atkinson, NC; brothers- in-law, Lewis F. (Debbie) McIntyre of Fayetteville, NC and Percy T. (Lydia) McIntyre of High Point, NC; 9 grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and a loving host of relatives and friends who will miss her immensely as well.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, June 19, 2010 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Reverend Donald Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church. A public viewing will take place on Friday, June 18, 2010 from 1pm until 9pm at the Russell Funeral Home.
