Pearline Carter Caldwell, daughter of Julius and Pauline Carter, was born November 25, 1931 in Winston-Salem, NC. Pearline came to the end of her earthly journey on January 3, 2019 at her home. Pearline loved the Lord and maintained her membership at First Waughtown Baptist Church where she was active in the Senior Choir until her health declined. While she was not able to join the choir on Sundays, you could find her singing every chance she got with her family members, even up to the hour of her departure. Pearline loved her family and was the Matriarch of the Carter/Caldwell Family Reunion.
Pearline was preceded in death by her parents; her eight siblings, Harold, Carrol, William, Johnny, Edward and Fred Carter, Doris Stanback, and Elouise Robinson; her husband, Delphis Caldwell; and her daughter, Doris Caldwell.
Pearline leaves to cherish loving memories, her sons, Thurmond B. Carter (Shirley), Delphis Caldwell, III (Karen) and Keith Caldwell; daughters, Sharon Williams and Gail Caldwell; twelve grandchildren, Dr. Lucretia Berry (Nathan), Thurmond R. Carter (Brandie), Cleo Hyman, Shantha Caldwell (James, II), Shanita Caldwell (Octavius), Delphis Caldwell, IV, Keela Blackburn (Ronnie), Latoya Scott (Princeton), Jackie McLean(Chris), Edna Williams, Sherman Williams, Jr. and Ieisha Caldwell; three sisters-in-law, Clara Caldwell, Mary Carter and Belva Jean Caldwell; twenty-four great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at First Waughtown Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Tuesday at the Church.
