Obituary

Mr. Pearle Dealmon Rhodie, 62, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. Mr. Rhodie was born December 3, 1951 in Bladen County, NC to Lossie Mae Rhodie King and Norwood King. Mr. Rhodie served on the deacon board at Beulah Tabernacle Holiness Church and was a retired employee of the City of Winston-Salem where he worked for over 26 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Maxine Griggs Rhodie.

He leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Pearley J. Rhodie (Aretha) and Curtis Griggs; grandchildren, Kellen, Kelvin, and Kimberly Griggs, Marquis Foster, and Rayana Simmons; great-grandchildren, Kaniya, Kahlin, Chris, Jr., and Kayden all of W-S, NC; a devoted nephew, Amos King of Burlington, NC; brothers, Jimmy Rhody (Loretta) of Teachey, NC, Isaiah Rhody of W-S, NC, Norwood H. King (Margaret) of Wallace, NC, Coleman Rhodie (Eleanor) of Brooklyn, NY, Charlie Johnson, Jr., Aton Johnson, and Ricky Johnson; sisters, Bertha Mae King of Rose Hill, NC, Joanne King of Wallace, NC, Linda Wycke, Ruth Williams, Josephine Cromartie, Silvia Richards, Priscilla McKoy, and Annette Lewis; two brothers-in-law, Rev. Calvester Griggs (Geraldine) and John Griggs, Jr.; one sister-in-law, Dianne Roseboro (Ardeal); and a host of extended family.

Funeral services for Pearle will be held at 1pm Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Beulah Tabernacle Holiness Church, 1326 N. Main Street W-S, NC 27105. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
