Obituary
Mrs. Pearl Lee Barnes Douthit, 76 passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
She was born April 4, 1932 in Liberty, NC and was a veteran of the Woman's Army Corps (U.S. Army).
Throughout most of her adult life she worked as a nurse's aide.
Mrs. Douthit was preceded in death by her parents, Austin B. and Vallie B. Barnes; her husband, Richard H. Douthit; and her grandson, Letino Douthit.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorcella (James) Canady of Williamsburg, VA; four sons, Scernando, Ricanandez (Amy), Thomandez, and Diwata (Tracy) Douthit all of Winston-Salem, NC; five granddaughters; one grandson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Tuesday, April 15, 2008 from the Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Waymon L. Monroe officiating and Reverend Charles W. Leak eulogist. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC with full military honors. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 11:30am on Tuesday at the Church.
The family will also receive friends from 6pm until 8pm Monday, April 13, 2008 at 2451 Farmbrook Rd.
