Pauline Genell Miller Winphrie was born on July 27, 1940. She entered into eternal rest on November 22, 2014 at Forsyth Hospital after a lengthy illness. Pauline was the third child born to Luther Miller, Sr. and Emma Leitzsey Miller.
She was educated in the Winston-Salem City School System and graduated from Atkins High School Class of 1958. Pauline was also an honor graduate of Winston-Salem Teacher's College, now Winston-Salem State University. She retired from the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System after thirty-two years. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Herbert Miller, Sr.; sister-in-law, Brenda Gordon Miller; and brother-in-law, Dolphus B. Parker.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Lilerwease Miller Carter (James); three brothers, Thomas Miller (Patricia devoted sister-in-law and caregiver), John Miller, and Luther Miller, Jr. (Deborah); nephews, Kevin A. Parker (Myrna), Dr. Herbert Miller, II (Veronica); nieces, Genell Aikens (Melvin), Karol Miller, Kasandra Miller, Conita Miller, and Dorline Dervin; and a host of great nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 950 File Street, with Dr. Serenus T. Churn officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
