Mrs. Paula Stevenson, 83, passed away June 19, 2017 after a short period of illness. Paula was born in Nassau, Bahamas to the late Kenneth & Rebecca Strachan. She was a retired educator of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on Highland Avenue.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William E. Stevenson; granddaughter, Lisa Carter; sisters, Prisa Pratt, Kathleen Hepburn, and Agnus Davies; and brother, Stephen Strachan.

Paula Stevenson is survived by her daughters, Ms. Lynette Stevenson of Winston-Salem, NC and Mrs. Daisy McQueen (Harold) of Washington, DC; grandson, William Simmons Stevenson; two great-grandsons; two great-great-grandchildren; grandson-in-law, William Carter; sister-in-law, Ernestine Davis of Winston-Salem; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 12noon Saturday, July 1, 2017 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 810 Highland Ave. W-S, NC with Father Hector Sintim officiating.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
