Patsy Massey Woods was born on October 21, 1911 to Janie (Thomas) Gwyn in Rock Hill, SC. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 18, 2017.

Mrs. Woods was educated by the York County School System in Rock Hill, SC.  She relocated to Winston-Salem, NC at an early age with her daughter, Magaline.

She was employed by Kate Bennett Hospital, later known as Reynolds Health Center, for 38 years.  She was a faithful member of Hanes Memorial CME Church for 80+ years where she served as an usher and missionary.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Janie Massey Gwyn; husband, Alexander Woods; daughter, Magaline Foxx; son, Alvin Woods; sisters, Sally Ford and Alberta McMorris; granddaughters, Gayle Brown, Deborah Leach, Melonee Blackmon, and Zelinda Foxx; great-grandson, Michael Blackmon, Jr.; and a great-great-grandson, Diante Blackburn.

Mrs. Woods leaves to cherish 5 loving generations in her devoted son, Gordon Dean of the home; beloved sister, Mary Richardson of Tega Cay, SC; son-in-law, Boysie Foxx, Jr. of Baltimore, MD; her grandchildren, Gary (Carolyn) Brown of the city, Andrea (Martin) Johnson of Grand Prairie, TX, Bozetta (Bonita) Scarbrough of Wilmington, NC, and Boysie Fox, III of Baltimore, MD; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren who were dedicated, devoted, and loyal to their grandmother.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Hanes Memorial CME Church with Rev. Clarence Cox, III officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
