Patricia Herring Thompson, entered eternal peace on June 9, 2018 at her home. She was the daughter of the late William and Elma Herring. She was a graduate of Winston Salem State University, earning a degree in education and was a devoted teacher where she worked for the Winston Salem public schools until her retirement. Patricia was a Gold Star member of First Baptist Church, Highland Ave.

She was predeceased by her beloved sister, Wilma Joe Transou.

She leaves to cherish her memories her affectionate children, Antonio Thompson (Elaine) and Nicole McCollum (Torrey) of Winston Salem, NC; four devoted and beloved  grandchildren, Tiffany Thompson, Antonio Thompson, Jr., Nyree Thompson, and Torrey McCollum, Jr. all of the city; a loving brother, William Herring; five adoring great-grandchildren; loving nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, June 15, 2018 at First Baptist Church- Highland Avenue with Rev. Paul Robeson Ford officiating and Rev. Glenn Pettiford eulogist. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11:00am on Friday at the Church.
