"My spirit soared and I reached out and touched the hand of the Lord." Ms. Patricia Kathleen Speas of 1473 E. Sedgefield Drive passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was a current employee of Sara Lee and Hanes Knitwear for over thirty years and was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving, devoted mother, Minnie S. Carpenter; one loving son, Nigel Alexander Speas; two grandchildren, Nimeir and Ni'gee Speas; one sister, Carolyn
Speas; one brother, Rocky Speas all of Winston-Salem, NC; four devoted nieces, Beverly (Wendell) Halsey, Toni (Derrick) Peoples, Kichas Adams, and Kimberly (Kevin) Banner all of Winston-Salem, NC; four loving nieces, Bridgett (Jeffery) Robinson, Rita Millington, Rhonda and Tina Jackson all of Winston-Salem, NC; four nephews, Vincent (Joyce) Daniels, Samuel Cureton, Jr., Christopher Gray and Kevin Speas all of Winston-Salem, NC; six loving cousins, Emma Young, Debra Stokes and Pamela (Carnell) Taylor of Winston-Salem, NC, Robert Daniels and Raymond "Butch" Daniels of New York, NY, and Shelia (Terry) Lankford of Hyattsville, MD; and a host of younger nieces, nephews, and cousins all of Winston-Salem, NC;
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, August 15, 2009 from the Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. C.E. Gray officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from12:30pm until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
