Patricia Ann Shouse, fondly known as "Tricia" by family and "Pat" by friends, was born on June 7, 1949, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to the late Josephine and John Gray Shouse. Patricia peacefully transitioned to eternal life with her parents on May 10, 2025.

Patricia's quiet spiritual love for Jesus Christ and people was evident from her early childhood, and she always maintained that demeanor throughout her entire life. She was an active member of St. James United Methodist Church in Rural Hall, NC until her health declined. She served with the United Methodist Women and attended the Lott Cary Conventions.

Patricia graduated from Carver High School. She proudly earned her bachelor's degree of education in 1971 from Bennett College and later earned her master's degree in early childhood education from UNC-Greensboro.

Patricia's passion and legacy was shown at Bethlehem Community Center where she served as Executive Director for over 30 years warmly greeting children, parents, and community members. She dedicated her time always trying to assist parents in providing an affordable safe environment for their children. She loved her children, and they loved her.

Pat was a Lifetime Member in Winston-Salem Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated where she was always willing and ready to assist with various community activities. She also volunteered and contributed with the National Black Theatre Festival. She enjoyed shopping, sharing a good meal with friends, attending sorority meetings and Winston-Salem State University games.

Tricia cherished her family, never missing events or celebrations involving her sister Lynn, and her cousins, Renee', Rachelle, Robin, Regan, Kimberley, D.J., and their children.

Patricia's memory will be cherished by her sister, Lynn Carol Shouse of Clemmons, NC; her aunts, Mollie McClain of Greensboro, NC and Hannah Eldridge of Winston-Salem, NC; her close cousins, Devonne Rachelle Anthony of Concord, NC, Renee' Anthony Leak (Jeffrey) of Huntersville, NC, Carolyn Farabee (Doc), Marcelette Eldridge, and Barbara Scales; longtime friend, Theotis Perry; and many other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, May 16, 2025, at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the St. James United Methodist Church Cemetery, Rural Hall, NC. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Friday at the Chapel.
