Obituary
Mrs. Patricia Ann Salter, 71, transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday, February 13, 2015 after an extended illness. She was born to Gwendolyn Smith on November 29, 1943 in Winston-Salem, NC.
She was employed at Salem College as a cook for 38 years until her retirement in 2008. She was a sweet, gentle person who loved cooking for her family on every holiday.
She was preceded in death by her mother; and her devoted husband, Calvin Salter.
Left to cherish wonderful memories are her children, Pamela (Quinton) Wilkins, Deborah Taylor, Rosalind Salter, Brenda Salter, and Calvin David Salter; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Laymon (Thelma) Conner, William "Bernard" Conner, Jerry Smith, Linda Smith, and Janet Tucker; devoted friend, Shirley Smith; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held at 11:30am until 12noon on Wednesday at the Chapel.
