Minister Ozella Naylor Cato entered this life on August 2, 1933 to James and Mozella Naylor. She departed this life on April 4, 2009 at the Wake Forest University/Baptist Medical Center.

She attended Columbia Heights High School and later Winston-Salem State University. Minister Cato was a faithful member of Gethsemane Hope Baptist Church. She had a passion for Christ and was ordained as a Minister on August 8, 2004. She was President of the Adult Missionary Circle, an Adult Sunday school teacher, and a member of the Senior Choir.

Minister Cato loved ministering to others in whatever their circumstance and at any hour. Everyone who knew her was blessed by her presence, words, and loving spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Deacon Bell Cato, Jr.; daughter, DeLisa C. Satterfield; son, Ernest N. Carter, Jr.; brother, James Nailer; and a special aunt-in-law, Deaconess Queen Ester Floyd.

Left to cherish her loving memories are her children, Ernestine (Derrick) Slade, Sandra (Clifford) Lynch, Angela (Michael) Rice, Timothy Earl Carter, Sonya Paul and Tigger Cason; special daughter, Gayle Brannon; two sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; fourteen grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Nellie Francis Naylor; her aunt, Roberta Wagner; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will b e held at 1pm Thursday, April 9, 2009 from the Gethsemane Hope Baptist Church with Reverend Ernest McLaurin officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12Noon until 1pm on Thursday at the Church.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Wake Forest University/Baptist Medical Center and Helena Patterson.

Minister Ozella Cato will be greatly missed by all who came in contact with her.
