Mr. Othello Rodman Keck, 74, departed his life on April 12, 2012 after an extended illness. He transitioned from life to death with his children, Corey and Tracey, at his bedside.
Othello was born on June 2, 1937 in Alamance County to the late Irvin Keck and the late Fostena Everette Keck. At an early age, he became a member of Children's Chapel Christian Church in Graham, NC. He was educated in the Alamance County school system and graduated from Graham High School in 1955. He attended North Carolina A&T State University as a Chemistry major and was a veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pernella Wright Keck; and his sister, Alma Ross Reives.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Corey Keck (Autumn) of Morrisville, NC; his daughter, Dr. Tracey Staley (Milton) of W-S, NC; his grandchildren, Corynn and Isaiah Keck; his brother, William Keck (Flossie) of Suitland, MD; his sister-in-law, Lydia Johnson (Craig) of W-S, NC; his devoted father-in-law, Deacon Tommy Wright, with whom he lived for the past twenty years; his great aunt, Delores Leonard-Freeman of Augusta, GA; his nephews, Greg Johnson (Teresa) of W-S, NC and Randy Keck of Washington, DC; his nieces, Rev. Renee Keck of Capitol Heights, MD, Rhonda Malloy (James) of Fort Washington, MD, Tiffani Ledbetter and Lakita Johnson both of W-S, NC; and a host of classmates and special friends from his hometown in Alamance County.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Mt. Calvary Holy Church, 930 East 14th Street, W-S, NC, with Pastor Tejado Hanchell, Officiant and Pastor Kelvin Shouse, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be from 12noon until 1 pm on Tuesday at the Church.
