Pastor Orville Ilgner, 77, went home to be with the Lord on December 29, 2011 at Summit Place of South Park in Charlotte, NC. He was born August 9, 1934 in Kingston Jamaica, W.I.

Orville served as chief photographer with Jamaica Tourist Board for more than twenty years before migrating to the United States. He was called to pastor Voice of Truth Church in 1986.

His Knowledge of the Word of God did not come because he spent years studying with the most renowned of Theologians at the largest seminary schools, but because of the time he spent with the most profound teacher of the church - The Holy Spirit.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Adeline Knight; brother, Isaac George Ilgner; and grandson, Dameon Burch.

Surviving are his wife, Marlena Ilgner; his children , Paula Ilgner Harker and husband Douglas, J. Harker, Paul Ilgner, Avril Ilgner McCormick and husband Lamont McCormick, and Judith P. Ilgner; his grandchildren, Shanasia Ilgner Prosper and husband Jean Prosper, Kayla Harker, Shaquan Ilgner, Jaylen and Jordyn Stiebel, Jackson and Logan McCormick; great-granddaughter, Gizelle Prosper; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Josephine Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
