Orlando Eugene Scales, Jr. was born September 20, 1960 in Winston Salem, NC. He was the first born to the late Orlando Eugene Scales, Sr. and Barbara Davis Scales.  He transitioned from this earthly life on January 4, 2020.

"June" as he is affectionately known grew up in Winston Salem, NC and attended Forsyth County Schools. He later continued his education at the Kittrell Job Corps Center in Kittrell, NC. While there he learned a trade in construction and earned his GED.  Thereafter, he worked in construction and painting until his health declined.

June was loved unconditionally by his family.  He loved spending time with family and friends.

June was preceded in death by his father Orlando Eugene Scales, Sr.; his mother, Barbara Davis Scales; his stepmother, Bobbie Scales; and a precious granddaughter, A'miyah L. Wright.

June will be truly missed by all who loved him.

He leaves to cherish memories: three daughters, Shekisha Allen and Shauntilla Scales both of Winston Salem, NC and Lakiaya Butler of Bainbridge, GA; three sons, Marquese Timbers and Justin Scales of Winston Salem, NC and Cordesso Scales of McKinley, TX; three grandchildren, Makiyah Stokes and Makaleb Butler of Bainbridge, GA and Alayjah Coad of Winston Salem, NC; three brothers, Darryl (Vivian) Scales, Kelvin Scales and Dykar Scales all of Winston Salem, NC; three sisters, Sonya (James) McKeever, Karen Scales, and Kelly Simmons all of Winston Salem, NC; six nieces, Cora and Barbara McKeever, Camalla Clark, Latoya and Iesha Huffin, Alexzandria Watson; seven nephews, James McKeever III and James McKeever V, Rakeem Scales, Franklin Huffin, Jr., Calvin James, Jr., Lemuel Watson, Jr., Jamalle Sheppard; twenty-four great nieces and nephews; two uncles, Willie and Mikle Davis; three aunts, Deresa (Charles) Pace, Stephanie Plater and Brenda Drummond all of Winston Salem, NC; special friend of the family, Mike Mitchell of Winston Salem, NC; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 2:30pm until 3:00pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
