Obituary

Mother-Teacher

"Let not your heart be troubled, ye believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself that where I am, there ye may be also." John 14:1-4

Olivia Green Daniels was born 03 July 1933 to Ollie William and Eva Davis Green in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Olivia graduated from Winston-Salem Teachers College with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Minor in Dramatic Arts. She launched her teaching career within the City of Wilson, NC Public School System and she retired an accomplished educator from the City of Lexington Public School System.  After retiring, Olivia volunteered for the American Red Cross and taught literacy classes at Forsyth Technical Community College to senior citizens.  Olivia was an artist and her landscapes were sold throughout small North Carolina boutiques.  She left behind a catalogue of landscape paintings for her future generations to enjoy. She was an active member of the Red Hat Club.

On 25 October 2021, Olivia Green Daniels transitioned quietly and peacefully at her home.  She gained her heavenly wings as she transitioned on to our Heavenly Fathers' Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Joy Adams and Cheryl Turner; two brothers- in-law, Bernard Turner and Donald Fields; and her former spouse, James Wagner.

As she begins her journey to be with our Lord, she will be missed for many years to come. Those who are left here on earth, are left to carry on her memories. Her lineage includes her five children, Evette Wagner, Tangelia Reed, Tyrone (Queen) Wagner, Fonda (Curtis) Ingram, and Jasmin Daniels; her seven grandchildren, Jennifer and Quinton Joyner, Jr., Tyrene (Craig) Troupe, Ty (Erika) Wagner, Mia Wagner, and Sky and Savannah Ingram; her three great-grandchildren, Nya Amason, Caleb and Zuri Wagner; her three siblings, Alvin (Carolyn) Green, Geryl Fields, and David (Christine) Green; she helped raise and dearly loved her nephew, Jewaun Whitherspoon; her former spouse, Joseph Daniels; and she had a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends who she adored.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, October 29, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.  Private services will be held Saturday, October 30, 2021.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
