Oliver Odell White, affectionately called "Puddin," passed away at CRT Golden Lamb Rest Home on May 31, 2017, following a period of illness. He was born to the late Thelma Louise White and Albert Haston in Forsyth County, NC on February 5, 1934. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Alphonso White, aka "Sky."

He graduated from Atkins High School in 1952 and he gave honorable service for his country in the United States Air Force. Oliver was a bus driver for the New York Transit Authority for over thirty years prior to his retirement. He was a faithful member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and a dedicated volunteer at WFU Baptist Medical Center for many years.

Survivors include his children,  Wendy White-Spraggins, Reginald Oliver Odell White, Bryant Keith Odell White and Veronica Dee White and their mother, Doris Mack; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Wilson; the Gaither, Green and White Families; and several extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Mount Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Serenus T. Churn, Sr. officiating.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Thursday at the Church.
