Mrs. Olean S. Stewart passed away peacefully early morning on November 1, 2021 at the age of 92, at Randolph House of Hospice in Asheboro, NC. Mrs. Stewart was the fourth of six children and the longest living family member at 92 years old. Born on April 3, 1929 and raised in Bishopville, SC, Mrs. Stewart worked for over 25 years at Forsyth Hospital as well as her whole life to help raise all her nieces and nephews. She loved to cook, bake, laugh, and continued to sale her famous fruit cake every Christmas until she was not able to anymore. She gave a great fight, as always, but she no longer suffering anymore.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 25 years of marriage, James Stewart; son, Lucious Smith; sisters, Edith Miller and Janine Hairston; and brothers, Jesse James Smith, Brisk Smith, and Willie Smith.
Olean is survived by her four children, Jesse and Pat Smith of Greensboro, NC, Lisa (Chico) Harden of Washington, DC, and Valerie Smith of Waldorf, MD; two grandchildren, Ernest Ghameshlougy (La'Toya) of Fort Washington, MD and Ashley Bernett of Waldorf, MD; four great-grandchildren, Elyjah, Chloe, Emir and Endy; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Stewart will be missed. Rest in Peace my angel your journey has ended, now you are home.
Olean Stewart will be laid to rest at: Piedmont Memorial Gardens 3663 Piedmont Memorial Dr. Winston-Salem, NC 27107
