Mrs. Odessa Ward Turner passed away September 14, 2015 at home into eternal rest. Mrs. Turner was a resident of Charlotte, North Carolina. She was born in Wilson NC February 18, 1921 to the late Rev. Leslie Ward and Lena Lucas Ward. She was a member of St. Stephens Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband, William Turner, Jr. who died in 1988; one sister, Maggie Virginia White; her brother, Moses Ward; and two sisters-in-law; Doris Ward and Maggie Turner.

Surviving are her daughter, Theresa Turner of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren, Tamara Turner of Winston Salem, NC, Marcus, Ryan, Odell, Odessa (Tia), and Miles all of Charlotte, NC; three great-grandsons, Ryan, Jr., Rylan, and T'miyus; three nieces, Barbara Singletary (Tracey), Cynthia Cession (Charles), and Yvonne Hairston (Myron); one nephew, Anthony Ray Ward; two great-nieces, Christina & Challe' Cession; a foster daughter and companion, Martha Lee Davis; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive visitors from 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Friday, September 25, 2015 where services will be conducted by Dr. Tracey Keck-Stayley and Reverend Charles Cession.
