Early Tuesday, March 22, 2016, our loving mother caught the morning train and made her transition from mortality to immortality. Odessa Yvonne Fields was born April 23, 1944 to the late Mack & Geraldine Acker in Anderson, South Carolina. She was educated in the Winston- Salem Public School System and was a graduate of Anderson High School - Class of 1962. She retired from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after 32 years of dedicated service.

Odessa was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she maintained active membership until her unexpected departure.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

She leaves to cherish her memory her six blessings, Toney Fields, Derrick Fields, Terry (Wanda) Fields, D'won Fields, DeQuincy (Russchell) Fields, and TeNisha Fields; her beloved grandchildren, Quinten Kelly, DeQuincy Fields, Darren Fields, Brittany Fields, Justin Fields, and Erica Fields; a best friend, Mrs. Mary Williams; devoted cousins, Deborah Snipes, Betty Sligh, and Darlene Kitchen; as well as a host of family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. John Mendez officiating. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
