Ochie Bell Little answered her final call on April 28, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born to Steven and Selona Little on June 8, 1912 in Ansonville, NC.
Ochie was the mother of Union Bethel AME Church where she had been a faithful member for over 70 years.
Ochie was preceded in death by her parents; nine other siblings; a daughter, Sarah Little Frost; a grandson, James Purcell Little; and a granddaughter, Linda Little.
Ochie leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Gwendolyn Pryor and Joette Little of the city; one son, Larry Little of the city; four goddaughters, Coral Jean Jackson, Geneva Wright, Roslyn Anderson, and Angela Carmon all of the city; seven grandchildren, Curtiss (Ann) Little of Clemmons, NC, Keewanee (Gloria) Frost of Kernersville, NC, Michael (Mary) Little of Raleigh, NC, Rhonda Little, Malcolm Mack, and Samora Little all of the city, and Natasha (Romulus) Crowell of Concord, NC; 11 great-grandchildren; six great, great grandchildren; two great, great, great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Celebration services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, May 2, 2009 at St. James AME Church with the Rev. Chalice Overy as eulogist. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 12 Noon to 1 pm Saturday at the church.
