Our heavenly father called an angel home, Norris Wayne Cheeks, lovingly known as "HOSS" was born February 15, 1962 to the late Charles McKinley Cheeks, Sr. and JoAnn Robinson Cheeks. He departed this earthly life on January 19, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center.
Norris was a graduate of Parkland High School Class of 1980. He was also a retired employee from the City of W-S Sanitation Department.
He leaves to mourn his cherished and devoted wife, Andrea "Val" Cheeks; one devoted daughter, Navva-Rae Carmichael; one devoted son, Kristopher Littlejohn; three grandchildren, Tanaja Littlejohn, Kristopher Littlejohn, Jr., and Kristian Littlejohn; four devoted sisters, Cherri Saunders of Lexington, NC, Debra (Edward) Cession of Greensboro, NC, Charlene (Robert) Farris and Alfreda (Brian)Wright both of the city; three devoted brothers, Charles (Betty) Cheeks, Michael Cheeks, and Joseph Cheeks; two aunts, Mary Hargrave of Lexington, NC and Shirley Gunless of the city; one uncle, JB Gunless; his mother-in-law, Edna J. Glenn of the city; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members; special cousin, Purcell Davidson and HW Gaddy; and not to be forgotten his dog, Max.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Friday, January 25, 2013 at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Friday at the Church.
