Our dearest Nora LaVon Jarrett Martin, 69, was peacefully called home on September 15, 2020. She was born in Winston-Salem, NC on October 3, 1950 to Henry L. Jarrett, Sr. and Nora B. Jarrett, both of whom preceded her in death. She was the fourth of seven children and affectionately called "Von".

Nora graduated from Paisley High School, in Winston-Salem, NC as a member of the Class of 1968. She was a member of the Marching band and played the trumpet. After graduation she worked for Hanes Hosiery and later, she began working in the medical field as a CNA. She was a member of United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church where she sang on the Gospel Choir until her health failed.

Besides her parents, Nora was also preceded in death by her sister, Elvira J. Peoples; and brothers, Henry L. Jarrett, Jr., Carl W. Jarrett, Sr., and Thaddeus D. Jarrett.

Nora loved her family dearly and was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandson. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She enjoyed her TV shows: Andy Griffith and Westerns. Nora was also a true lover of music.

Nora leaves to cherish memories of her life two loving children, son, Travis T. Martin (Erika) of Killeen, TX and daughter, Tereka T. Martin of Winston-Salem, NC; her grandchildren, Karisma, Jackson, Kariza, Kariel and Karleigh; one great-grandson, Mateo; brothers, Paxon E. Jarrett (Andrea) of Kernersville, NC and James E. Jarrett, Sr. (Stephanie) of Dumfries, VA;  sisters-in-love, Elwillie Jarrett of Winston-Salem, NC and Wilhelmenia Jarrett of Los Angeles, CA; along with a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Private services will be held Friday, September 25, 2020.
