Dr. Nicholas Tremayne Hester, son of Virgil and S. Patricia Hester was born May 19, 1981 in Winston-Salem, NC. He attended the public schools of Davidson County. Nicholas earned an undergraduate degree from Warren Wilson College, master's degree from Minnesota State University, and a doctoral degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In addition to his many educational accolades, he was All American and team MVP during his college career. Dr. Hester was also a proud published author of 15 books and was named as one of the "40 Leaders Under forty" by the Triad Business Journal.
Dr. Hester was God fearing man and grew up attending Emmanuel Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, NC. Professionally, he touched the lives of many young adults as they progressed through college at Winston-Salem State University, where he was the interim Director of the B. O. S. S. Student Support Services Program. He recently assumed the position of Director of Student Support Services at Georgia Southern University.
His legacy of a loving son, brother, academic achievement, academic achievement, infectious smile, and genuine love for life will be cherished by many. He departed this life on Monday, November 5, 2018.
He is survived by his father, Virgil and mother S. Patricia Hester, of Winston-Salem, NC; two brothers, Reginald (Korrie) Hester of Rolesville, NC and Jeffrey (Allison) Hester of Raleigh, NC; three nephews, Reece, Riley, and Isaiah Hester; one niece, Naomi; a special cousin, LaCoya Eaton; grandmother, Susie Hargrove Christmas; and a host of devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am on Saturday at the Church.
