With deep sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Neverra Antwine James, 65, of Winston-Salem, NC on February 20, 2025. He was born to Delphine James and Joseph Barksdale on April 24, 1959.
Neverra leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. He was known in his community for bringing everyone together, watching the Dallas Cowboys play, and fishing. He was a dedicated lumber cutter for over 20 plus years at Thomasville Furniture.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Delphine James.
He leaves a legacy through his son, Bryant Johnson; sisters, L'Tanya Blyther, Sylvia, Freeda, and Pam Barksdale; brother, Elijah R. James; nieces, Johnetta James and Latoya Blyther; great-nephew and nieces, Ojhi, Jr., Londyn, and A'avion; a host of additional nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Neverra's memory will be a guiding star for all that knew him. Let us remember and honor the impact he had on our lives. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may the memories we share bring comfort during this difficult time.
