Nathaniel Isaiah Bazemore, born August 10, 2005, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 30, 2017. Nate, at 12 years old, was already an original-a great mind, curious, funny, artistic, kind, loving, empathetic-everything you would ever hope for your child to be. He loved animals, his family and friends, video games and bacon-everything bacon. Because Nate was highly intelligent, he was strongly opinionated and was able to articulate his beliefs. He was planning on volunteering this year and was already at 12 planning for college scholarships. His love of life was evident to everyone around him. The outpouring of love for Nate has been tremendous-from his friends, their parents, previous and current schools and basically everyone who ever had the privilege of meeting him. Nate's life wasn't always easy, though. He was bullied by schoolmates because he wore glasses, because he was smart, you name it, he experienced it but it only heightened his resolve. Some children aren't so fortunate. Parents, if you take anything from the celebration of this brave young man's life, let it be this-teach your children to respect and value their differences. Teach them to be loving and accepting of others not like them. Teach them to take the time to get to know someone before making snap judgments based on looks. The death of this beautiful child doesn't define him, the legacy he has left does. We can only hope we're blessed enough to do the same. SALTY BIRD , fly high while you're watching over us. We will meet again on that beautiful shore and when we do there will be no more sorrow, no more tears and we will rejoice that we're all together again. We will love you always, Natey and because of those beautiful brown eyes, someone will see again.
Nathaniel was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jaqueline Levon Jones; great-grandmother, Connie Stephens; and great-grandparents, Kenneth and Belle Holdaway.
He is survived by his parents, Sean and Noquita Bazemore of the home; paternal grandparents, Bill and Myra Nixon, maternal grandfather, Gordon Ray Jones; great-grandparents, Mary and Jesse Jones and Brenda and Barry Dunlevy; aunts and uncles, Kianna Mullins (Gerod), Stephanie and Tiffany Jones, Hope Buxton, Byron Buxton, Gordon Ray Jones, Jr., and Hunter Buxton; cousins, Maggie Malloy, Ray Jones, Lania Jones, Dequante Jones and Ryan Peddycord; along with a host of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Monday, November 6, 2017 at Goler Memorial AME Zion Church. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Monday at the Church.
