Obituary

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7" Naomi Webster Rew was born on December 29, 1923 to Decarster and Murphy Joyce Webster in Stokes County, NC. She transitioned to eternal rest on August 9, 2010 at Springwood Care Center.
She was a graduate of Atkins High School and after graduation she worked for a number of years for the Carvon Plant (later known as AT&T). Mrs. Rew also worked at RJ Reynolds prior to moving to Philadelphia, PA where she resided for 42 years. While in Philadelphia, she was employed at the Campbell Soup Company and the owner of Hot Roasted Peanuts and Hot Pretzel.
She was a Baptist by faith.
In the mid-eighties, Mrs. Rew returned to Winston-Salem, NC and became a resident of University Place. She participated in many activities including being secretary at the monthly meetings of the residents of University Place.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Brenda Delores; four sisters, Ora, Nellie Van, Olivia Edwards, and Mary Barr; and two close extended family members, Fannie Rice and Hazel Cockerham.
Mrs. Rew leaves to cherish the legacy of her loved ones and precious memories to her family.
Surviving are her sister, Peggy (Jeter) Floyd; brothers, Joyce (Peggy) Webster of Virginia Beach, VA, Jarvis (Josephine) Webster of Philadelphia, PA; and James Murphy (Dr. Sadie) Webster; special extended family, Anna Bell Cockerham; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends that she loved very much.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ronald Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the doctors and staff of Springwood Care Center and to Hospice and Palliative Care of Forsyth for the care given to Mrs. Rew.
