Nancy Vernon Thompson, formerly of Washington/Canonsburg, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 following a brief illness. She was born April 9, 1955 in Wellsville, Ohio. She was the eldest of four children born to Margaret and Emmett Vernon.
Nancy attended Wash High, and enjoyed cooking, shopping, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Union Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, N.C.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Thompson; her granddaughter, Lyric Davis; and her two sisters, Christina Vernon and Jaime Bernon.
Surviving are two sons, Lucas and Tyler Davis; one brother, Kenny Vernon; a sister-in-law, Cassandra Pettis; brother-in-law, Zach Pettis; three nieces, Kristi Lane Scott, Kelly Perez, and Chandra Lee; four nephews, William Lane, Jared Scott, Jason Scott, and Matthew Standiford; her companion, William Blue; two great nieces, Ziya Lee and Laila Scott; two great nephews, Zaviuan Lee, and Christian Scott; and a host of other relatives and friends.
