Nancy Sue Miller Adams, 72, was born March 11, 1945 in Winston-Salem, NC to Harvey and Rosalie E. Miller. She departed this life on February 22, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK.
Nancy attended the public schools of Winston-Salem, NC, graduating from Paisley High School, class of 1963. She enrolled in Winston-Salem State University and graduated in 1967.
Nancy was an employee of Winston-Salem State University before relocating to Oklahoma. In Oklahoma, she was employed with the Community Action Agency (Head Start Oklahoma City).
Nancy was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Winston-Salem State University Alumni Association, Guys & Dolls, and Urban League.
Nancy was very caring and giving. She loved cooking and entertaining family and friends. She also loved art, crafts and design as well as singing. Nancy was fortunate to sing with WSSU choir at Carnegie Hall in NYC. She loved going to "THE SPOT" as she called it and playing cards with family and friends.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Harvey & Rosalie Miller.
Survivors are her husband, Willie Adams of OKC, OK; daughter, Monica A. (Christopher) Finley, of OKC, OK; sister, Brenda M. Galloway of the city; a loving nephew, Don M. (Amanda) Galloway; great nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Jada, Donovan, Malia and Bradley Galloway of city; nieces and nephews, Ericka B. (Robert) Seifried of Germany, Michelle Bahner of TN, Kia D. Bahner of CA, Roderick Bahner Jr. of TN; cousin, Jesse (Shirley) Eaton of city; brother-in-law, Walter Adams of city; sister-in-law Joan (Roderick) Bahner of TN; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
