Obituary
Mrs. Myrtle Ruth Washington was born on May 11, 1932 in Anson County, NC. She passed away November 21, 2011.
She graduated from Merrick-Moore High School in Durham, NC in 1952 and went on to attend Teachers College in Winston-Salem, NC.
She was retired from Wachovia Bank of Winston-Salem, NC and was a sales representative at Rominger Southern Furniture in Winston-Salem, NC.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Washington, Jr.
Myrtle is survived by two sons, Gary D. Mebane of Los Angeles, CA and Phillip K. Adams of Winston-Salem, NC; three sisters, Betty Harris (James) of Williamstown, NJ, Mattie L. Pratt of Durham, NC, and Josephine Glover (Frank) of Brooklyn, NY; one brother, John H. Laws (Linda) of Durham, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Clemmons Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1710 Lewisville-Clemmons Rd. Clemmons, NC.
Myrtle was a loving and sharing mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
