Muriel Floyd, Jr., affectionately known as "Boo", was born on April 11, 1957 to Muriel Floyd, Sr. and Minnie Anderson Floyd. He attended Glenn High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and entered the United States Army on June 27, 1976 upon high school graduation. He was honorably discharged in January 1979 and was employed by Dell Computers for several years.

Muriel entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Emma Edwards Floyd of the home; two sons; five sisters; three sisters-in-law, Sallie Lennon of Charlotte, NC, Lucille Lennon of Long Island, NY, and Gwendolyn Bartley (Leander) of Moncks Corner, SC; one brother-in-law, Nathaniel Southerland of McColl, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home.  Private services will be held Thursday, September 24, 2020.  Interment will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2020 in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
