On June 10, 1918, a bouncing baby girl was born in Forsyth County to John and Inez Miller Chambers who they named, Mozelle Inez. Mozelle was educated in the Forsyth County School s at Kernersville Elementary and Atkins High School. During her early years, she became a member of Providence Baptist Church of Kernersville, NC of which she served as church clerk for 40 years, a member of the Senior Choir, past president of the Missionary Circle, Usher Board and Chairperson of the Hospitality Committee of the Senior Missionaries for a number of years and an active member of the Kernersville Good Neighbor Club. She was a retired employee of Monarch Furniture Company.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Carl Warren and a son, Genie Chambers.
Her memories will be cherished by her children, Phyllis W. McNeil of High Point, NC, Donnie (Phyllis) Warren, Sr. of Winston-Salem, NC, Frederick Lewis Warren of Charlotte, NC, and Cynthia Warren-Cunningham of Greensboro, NC; two sisters, Lucille C. Warren of Kernersville, NC and Dimple C. Warren of Winston-Salem, NC; one brother-in-law, Clarence Odell Warren; fourteen grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; on great-great grandchild. She is lovingly remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews; a god-daughter, Patsy M. Jessup and her friends, Louise B. Waiters and Shirley W. Smith.
Her love for quilting will be remembered by several family members to whom she gave quilts on different occasions. She had a passion for gardening and it was evident because of the beauty of the picturesque presentation. Last, but by no means least a love fore "hitting the malls to find a good sale." Born to shop!!
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 12 NOON from the Providence Baptist Church, Kernersville, NC with Reverend Derioux Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday evening at the Providence Baptist Church.
