On the morning of April 20, 2014, Easter Sunday, Moses D. Daniels, Sr. transitioned at his home with his wife by his bedside.  He was the son of the late Reverend Albert and Rebecca Daniels.  Moses was born May 9, 1919 in South Carolina.  The family later moved to Fayetteville, NC.

Moses began his Christian walk as a member of Christ Temple and later was a charter member of Christ Rescue Temple.  He was very active in the church.  He served as Choir Director, Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon, Chairman of Board of Deacons (Emeritus), Chairman of Board of Trustees (Emeritus), President of UCJA Deacons and Brothers Auxiliary, Member of CRT Golden Lamb Board of Trustees, and founder/president of the CRT Educational Fund.

Moses was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Todd; three brothers, Eli, Frank, and Leroy; five sisters, Anna Belle, Henrietta, Mary, Eliza, and Dorothy; and one grandson, Michael.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of seventy-three years, Mary Thompson Daniels; three sons, Norvell (Gloria) of Palm Bay, FL, Moses (Patricia) of Stratford, CT, and Joseph (Brenda) of W-S, NC; one daughter, Marie of the home; one sister, Hanan Yasin (Abbas) of Milwaukee, WI; one sister-in-law, Helen Thompson of W-S, NC; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and the Christ Rescue Temple Church Family.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Christ Rescue Temple with Bishop Willie Davis officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the CRT Educational Fund (Moses D. Daniels, Sr. WSSU Scholarship Fund).
