Moses Edward Seat, Sr., son of the late Charlie Wilson and the late Gardenia Martin-Seat, was born October 9, 1946 in Winston- Salem, NC.
Moses served his country proudly in the United States Army in Korea. After his Honorable discharge from military service, he worked a number of years for the City of Winston-Salem. In later years, Moses became a painter and a custodian for the W-S/FC Schools. He enjoyed working at various locations throughout his career until he retired after 20 years.
During his retirement you could find him tending his flowers, directing everyone on how to properly mow the lawn, baking one of his famous pies and chatting with loved ones. Moses always had time to give you a word.
In addition to his parents, Moses was preceded in death by his two sisters, Laura Williams and Christine Priddy; and one brother, Charlie Seat.
He is survived by his dedicated wife of 46 years, Priscilla Seat of Winston-Salem, NC; two daughters, Anita Salaam of Winston-Salem, NC and Moza Miller of Winston-Salem, NC; five sons, Moses Seat, Jr. and Vyck Seat Cooley (Kymberly) of Atlanta, GA, Dedrick Mabry of Winston- Salem, NC, Samuel Seat (Charnell) of Austin, TX, and Joseph Seat of High Point, NC; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Queen Seat; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home. Private services will be held Thursday, December 10, 2020. Interment will be held Monday, December 14, 2020 in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
