Mr. Moses A. Lucas, known by most as "MR. MO", was one of five children born to the late James Lucas and Willie Richardson Lucas in Wilson, NC on March 27, 1927. He was called home on Tuesday, June 21, 2016.

He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church from his early childhood until his passing.

In 1954, after serving his country in the US Army, Moses Lucas found his way to the Winston Lake Family YMCA (formerly Patterson Ave. YMCA) where he served the Winston-Salem community for more than 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Willie Lucas; sisters, Edith Lucas Lynch, Geraldine Lucas Abbott, and Margaret Lucas Chatman; and his brother, James Lucas, Jr.

Left to cherish the memories of Mr. Moses "MO" Lucas are generations of community members forever grateful of his community impact and the lives touched.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Union Baptist Church, 1200 N. Trade Street W-S, NC 27101 with Bishop Todd Fulton officiating. The family visitation will be held from 2:00pm until 3:00pm on Sunday at the Church. Interment will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
