Morris Julian Thompson, Sr. passed away June 6, 2010.
He retired from R.J. Reynolds in 1987 after 31 years of service. He was a faithful member of United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church and he sang with the Twin City Choristers for 26 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Kathryne Thompson; three daughters, Jacqueline Chavis (Paul), Roxanne Casey (Michael), and Winifred Hawkins (James); one son, Morris Thompson, Jr.; three grandchildren, Heather Thompson, Megan Toms, and Lloyd Gravely, Jr.; one great-grandson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday, June 12, 2010 at United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Prince Raney Rivers officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11am on Saturday at the Church.
