Mrs. Minnie Lee Simons was born December 20, 1933 in Forsyth County, NC. and transitioned from this earthly life on March 5, 2020.

Left to cherish her memories  are her 7 children, Shirley Shepherd (Michael), Sharon Scott (Kenny), Johnnie Sherard (Vincent), James Simons, Jr., Paulette Clark (Henry), Willie Simons (Robin) and Anna Hatcher (Ronald); 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren;1 great-great-grand; one sister, Verna Mae Shaw; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Simons; her mother, Corine Bailey; and 3 siblings, Charles Cason, Nancy Carpenter, and Sylvester Douglas.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, March 13, 2020 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Bernie Cundiff officiating.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.  The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Friday at the Chapel.
