Mrs. Minnie Speas Carpenter was born on October 11, 1924. She passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
Mrs. Speas received her GED from Forsyth Technical Community College and was a retiree of North Carolina Baptist Bowman Gray School of Medicine.
She was preceded in death by her two daughters, Patricia Speas and Elaine Speas.
She is survived be her loving son, Rocky Speas; fourteen grandchildren, Vincent (Joyce) Daniels, Beverly (Wendell) Halsey, Toni (Derrick) Fair, Bridgett (Jeffery) Robinson, Kichas Adams, Kevin Speas, Kimberly Banner, Samuel Cureton, Jr., Nigel (Latoya) Speas, Terrance Daniels, Christopher (Denita) Gray, Rita Millington, Rhonda Jackson, and Tina Jackson all of Winston-Salem, NC; eighteen great-grandchildren, Lakisha Daniels, Aishah Adams, Mariah Adams, Marcus Adams, Denasha (Stephon) Hairston, Valcenia (Pooh) Pauling, Samuel Cureton, III, Demetrice McCorkle, Gregory Cureton, Shenicka Witherspoon, Tiffany Robinson, Amber Robinson, Jeffery Robinson, and Antwan Cureton all of Winston-Salem, NC, LaBrandon (Leight) Banner of Asheboro, NC, D'Arcy (Robert) McCormick and Harolyn Holmes of Charlotte, NC, and Gary (Yolanda) Gason of Red Spring, NC; eight cousins, Debra Stokes, Pamela Taylor, Chris Young, Cecilia Young, and Sabrina Young all of Winston-Salem, NC, Robert Daniels and Raymond "Butch" Daniels of New York, NY, and Sheila (Terry) Lankford of Hyattsville, MD; and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins all of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Friday, May 10, 2019 at Mars Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:00noon on Friday at the Church.
