Obituary

Minetta Elizabeth Lowe Werts, born October 17, 1956 of Winston-Salem, NC,  entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 8, 2023.

Minetta was the youngest daughter born in Ottawa, Canada to Howard and Hilda Lowe. She was raised in Winston-Salem following her dad's service in the US Air Force.  She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the Sunshine Band in her younger years.  Minetta accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and ministered to all that she encountered throughout her life.  Minetta graduated from East Forsyth High School in 1975 where she excelled in basketball, volleyball, and softball.  She also played the saxophone and was a lover of music. She was a gifted singer and songwriter.   Minetta enjoyed traveling and was an outstanding cook, which is one of the many ways she shared love.  Minetta retired from Tyco Electronics in May of 2021 after 35 years of service.

Minetta had a huge heart and was such a thoughtful giver with a wonderful sense of humor. She also cared for her nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was also a caregiver for many family members. Minetta was affectionately known as "Auntie Nana" to her great-nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Lowe, Sr. and Hilda Lowe; brother, Victor Gary Lowe, Sr.;  nephew, Victor Gary Lowe, Jr.;, niece, Loretta Lowe; and Godmother, Doris Dudley.
